Chavant hard NSP clay sculpt for the pads – Toe beans. I filmed fencing and moulding, sometimes I make great moulds sometimes not. This mould was two thin, leaked and cracked, this was not a good mould but it allowed me to test the Temptu air brush Zombie palette paints to make sure mixing the colour still means the silicon cures and it worked a treat. I did think the colour was too orange but once I demoulded them they were actually pretty prefect and there was no needed to resculpt, mould and pour again.

As LUMA’s construction progresses, the focus shifts to the lower body. Developing the legs and paws strengthens the character’s physical presence while providing accurate references for future AI-generated animation.
Building the Legs
Air dry clay is used to shape the legs, allowing muscle definition and natural feline proportions to be developed directly over the armature.
The sculpt concentrates on:
- Joint placement
- Muscle structure
- Weight distribution
- Standing posture
- Overall balance
Creating the Paws
Silicone moulds provide a practical way to reproduce consistent paw details while maintaining symmetry across the build.
The moulded paws capture:
- Paw pad details
- Toe proportions
- Claw positioning
- Surface texture
Using moulds also allows replacement parts to be produced if required during later stages of production.
Supporting Character Consistency
Each completed component expands the visual reference library used throughout the animation process. The more accurately the physical build represents the intended character, the easier it becomes to maintain continuity when generating scenes with SORA 2.
Next Steps
With the major structural components complete, future work will focus on refining surface details, integrating the various sculpted elements and preparing LUMA for full character presentation.
Conclusion
Constructing LUMA’s legs and silicone moulded paws completes another significant stage in the build. These physical references strengthen the connection between traditional creature making and modern AI-assisted filmmaking, supporting the development of Littlenobody FABLES as a visually consistent animated short.
